About The Goal...
Did you know more than half of the world population doesn’t have access to internet? Or that one third of all food produced in the world is lost or wasted? To make the world a better place, the United Nations has set 17 goals which the world should achieve by 2030. It sounds far away, but it’s already in 12 years.
How old will you be then?
These so called Sustainable Development Goals are very ambitious, yet achievable. For example; in 2030 everyone has access to clean and safe drinking water. The world contributes to a sustainable climate and the oceans are free of plastic. It’s almost 2030 and the clock is ticking. How can we achieve the goals, for ourselves, the planet and the next generation? The private sector has a fundamental role to play. Without the support of companies and investors, we will fail to deliver these goals.
The World Benchmarking Alliance measures and compares performance of companies on the SDGs. Their mission is to provide everyone with access to information that indicates how companies are contributing to the SDGs. We believe that by benchmarking these performances, they stimulate companies to contribute more and more on the SDGs.
